Founded in 1982, SpanTran grew into one of the most trusted names in the foreign credential evaluation industry, earning our NACES® membership in 1996, a distinction we have proudly maintained ever since.
In 2024, we rebranded as The Evaluation Company (TEC), a name that better reflects the breadth of who we are today. Since then, we have expanded our offerings to include Canadian credential evaluations and Visa Key, our healthcare worker certificate evaluation.
To date, we have completed over one million evaluations for students, professionals, and institutions across the globe. Our partners include universities, state licensing boards, healthcare organizations, and employers who rely on us to make accurate, timely decisions about the credentials of the people they serve.
Whether you found us as SpanTran or are discovering us as TEC, our commitment remains the same: to provide reliable, expert evaluations that help people move forward.
The SpanTran Course Analysis (Course-by-Course) evaluation is our most popular service and is often referred to as a “transcript evaluation.” It includes an overall statement of equivalency for each credential plus individual courses, credits, and grades based on the transcripts provided.
These conversions are used to calculate a U.S. grade point average (GPA) per credential as well as a combined, overall GPA. The Course Analysis evaluation can be done for secondary or post-secondary education, meaning you can evaluate all your high school (secondary) transcripts together or all of your college/university transcripts and degrees together.
